Can I send a letter by post with Claude or ChatGPT?
Yes. Claude and ChatGPT can’t send post on their own – with the mcpbrief connector they can. mcpbrief is an MCP server (Model Context Protocol) by PIT Webservices GmbH from Austria. Questions before your first letter
Is registered mail sent via mcpbrief legally valid?
Registered mail is delivered by the respective national postal service with a tracking number and proves dispatch and delivery. Like registered mail sent at the post office counter, it does not prove the content of the letter. For particularly important deadlines, we recommend allowing enough lead time and keeping the preview as evidence.
How quickly does the letter arrive?
Letters received on business days by early afternoon are usually printed and handed over to the postal service on the same or the next business day. Domestic delivery usually takes 1–3 business days, international delivery longer.
What happens if a letter cannot be printed?
If the print centre cannot read the address or rejects the document, the letter is not sent and the amount is automatically credited back to your balance. You will receive an email. If a letter is returned by the postal service as undeliverable, the postage has been used and is not refunded.
How long are my documents stored?
Letter documents are deleted automatically after 30 days. Date, recipient, page count, status and tracking number are kept for your accounting.
Do I need a printer, envelopes or stamps?
No. Printing, enveloping and franking are done in a print centre of our partner Pingen – in the destination country wherever possible. The recipient gets a completely normal letter with your name or company as the sender.
Will Claude send without my approval?
mcpbrief instructs Claude to show the address, delivery type, page count, price and a PDF preview before every dispatch and to wait for your confirmation. In addition, Claude usually asks for approval itself before paid actions.
